Here’s my 4-day study plan for passing the Claude Architect Foundation. I would say I was at novice/beginner level before I began.

Courses (~2 full days work)

Completed in the following order:

  1. Claude Code in Action - https://lnkd.in/dkDStAsR
  • Introduced me to basics, CLAUDE.md, how to manage context, when to use hooks. 2. Introduction to Agent Skills - https://lnkd.in/djtMzmAF
  • Creating and managing skills 3. Claude with the Anthropic API - https://lnkd.in/dYR2sFRi
  • This is a long course!
  • Helps you set up Claude API step by step so you can build your own agents, covers prompt engineering and evaluation.

Tip: for the exam alone - you probably don’t need to complete all coding exercises, just understanding the concepts is enough. For applying Claude outside of exam practice - I found the exercises really helpful.

Note: Introduction to Model Context Protocol - https://lnkd.in/d9ASMxev

  • No need to do this course. The content is already covered in ‘Claude with the Anthropic API’ above.

Practice questions (~2 full days work)

  1. Cert Safari Quizzes - https://lnkd.in/dSiyWnEy
  • Questions are easy, I found this useful at the beginning to get deeper familiarity with the concepts, build confidence, but it’s not enough for the exam.

Tip: I would open this up for the ‘in-between’ moments for quick 10-question quizzes while on bus, waiting for meetings to start, etc.

  1. Udemy Practice Exams - https://lnkd.in/dtGKWZWr
  • These were much more similar to the exam. → Exam 1: very easy - I wouldn’t prioritize it → Exam 6: more challenging and useful → Exam 5: I heard from multiple people that it was trickier, so I’d definitely try it
  • I only did 2 practice exams but I’d recommend doing more if you have the time.

Tip: Do at least 1 timed exam. For the others, practice mode works well. You don’t necessarily need to block out 2 hours - you can answer a few questions whenever you have time and come back later.

Day 1: Claude Code in Action & Introduction to Agent Skills Courses Day 2: Claude with the Anthropic API course & Cert Safari quizzes Day 3: First Udemy exam & review mistakes, repeat Day 4: All day practice questions and review

If you have any more questions about the exam I’m happy to help
