A year ago I got frustrated with CI.

Not with any one tool, but with the loop. Change a workflow, commit, push, wait, read logs, guess, repeat. It was slow when I was the one writing the workflow. It became absurd once an LLM was writing it: the model iterates in seconds, then sits waiting minutes for a pipeline to tell it what went wrong.

So I spent my nights and weekends this year building the CI I wanted: https://kici.dev

  • Workflows in TypeScript, not YAML
  • Runs on your own infrastructure
  • A tight dev loop: you (or your LLM) test a workflow against the real infrastructure, without a single commit

It’s a small dream of mine, and I’d love to kickstart a bit of a CI revolution with it.

Curious: what’s the most annoying part of your CI loop?
