This is how to make a Yap video that actually outperforms.

Everybody loves Yaps ‘cause they’re so easy to make.

But the irony is, all the best yaps are actually following a set formula.

So if you want your Yap videos to cut through, there are 3 things you have to do.

The first one is the title text.

Spoken hooks are nowhere near as important as the title text on screen.

99/100 people will read the text hook first and decide whether to stay.

Typically you want this to frame a new perspective on some topic or create initial curiosity by planting a question in the viewer’s mind.

Just study what’s already worked for other yaps in your niche and reverse engineer their text hook format.

The second thing to have is intentional motion.

There are really 2 categories of yaps.

Static yaps like the ones in the cars or bedroom.

Sometimes these pop but the hit rate is super low

Or Premium yaps…which have some motion, ideally in the hook and body.

My favorite is this guy faizan.

He just leaves the camera in the same spot, and then switches where he’s seated.

This resets the visual field and holds attention so much better.

You could say this isn’t a true yap, but I think this is the elevated execution that is easy to make and feels way more premium.

You could also walk and talk, set the camera down, there’s a million ways to do it, but you really want some motion.

Now the 3rd piece is the most important.

And this is the structure of your storytelling.

All great yappers actually have a plan before they press record.

In your head, you wanna have the hook, core contrarian take and then 1 or 2 main points organized and just rip down from there.

You don’t need a full script, but you do need a plan.

I’m telling you the pros are not just riffing raw and going viral.

They are planning these out before they shoot.
